Welcome to Carrigeen NS
Carrigeen National School is co-educational primary school serving the townsland of Carrigeen and parish of Mooncoin. The school caters for Junior Infants to Sixth Class and we have one autism class which opened September 2022. Our school is under the patronage of the Diocese of Ossory and works in line with the Primary School Curriculum and guidelines laid down by the Department of Education and Skills.
Carrigeen NS welcomes every child in the community we serve and creates learning opportunities in a spirit of inclusion. Our school caters for the physical, academic, social, emotional and spiritual needs of children within the school day in a supportive and caring way.
Carrigeen NS seeks to develop the individual talents of our students by maintaining a strong focus on teaching, learning, collaboration and innovation. We believe that children learn best when there are strong links between home and school and every effort is made to work together with the best interests of our pupils at heart.
Our school prides itself on its warm, happy, friendly, inclusive and caring environment where the pupils are at the heart of all we do. There is an exciting and energetic atmosphere in our school - it is a place full of positivity and opportunity.
